And went to Buenos Aires, where people responded to him, not to his position.
On Friday, December 11, Argentina’s National Tango Day, that story comes to life for one hour at Mariposita de San Telmo, the tango house where it was written. You won’t watch a book launch. You’ll walk into the book.
Your evening, from the door to the last tango
- 17:30 · You arrive. At the door, you’re welcomed by name and receive your card: your name, your seat, and the book’s cover. From the door you go straight to the mural for your first photo, then walk the red carpet past the seven flags, filmed as you go, while the painter Marta Grosso paints the night beside you. Then, to your table.
- 18:00 · The book is unveiled. Bandoneón and guitar, live: Miguel Ángel Yofre and Nahuel Roth. Three couples dance toward a covered table.
- 18:10 · The voices. The teachers in the book read it aloud. At the mural on its cover, Carolina Bonaventura calls its painter, Darío Parvis.
- 18:28 · The rocking chairs. Two people, two books, and nothing else.
- 18:35 · The couples dance. A short tanda on the floor of Mariposita.
- 18:42 · A moment of silence. The painting you saw being made as you arrived is revealed. Beside it, a sealed box: whatever is offered for it opens the door of tango to new students of Mariposita. The best offer takes it home.
- 18:46 · The dedication. In front of the painting, the author gives the book, by hand, to the people it was written for.
- 18:53 · The tango. Carolina Bonaventura dances.
- 18:57 · The last dance. Everyone on the floor, in the embrace. One sentence closes the hour.
- 19:00 · Now it’s your turn. In front of the mural, the first guests are filmed in their first embrace. Mariposita’s tango class begins. Offers for the painting close at 19:30. Stay.

El viernes 11 de diciembre, Día Nacional del Tango, esa historia cobra vida durante una hora en Mariposita de San Telmo, la casa de tango donde fue escrita. No vas a ver la presentación de un libro. Vas a entrar en él.
Tu noche, de la puerta al último tango
- 17:30 · Llegás. En la puerta te reciben por tu nombre y te entregan tu tarjeta: tu nombre, tu lugar y la tapa del libro. Desde la puerta vas directo al mural para tu primera foto y después caminás la alfombra roja junto a las siete banderas, filmado, mientras la pintora Marta Grosso pinta la noche a tu lado. Después, a tu mesa.
- 18:00 · Se descubre el libro. Bandoneón y guitarra en vivo: Miguel Ángel Yofre y Nahuel Roth. Tres parejas bailan hacia una mesa cubierta.
- 18:10 · Las voces. Los maestros del libro lo leen en voz alta. Frente al mural de su tapa, Carolina Bonaventura llama a su autor, Darío Parvis.
- 18:28 · Las mecedoras. Dos personas, dos libros, y nada más.
- 18:35 · Bailan las parejas. Una tanda corta en la pista de Mariposita.
- 18:42 · Un silencio. Se descubre la pintura que viste nacer al llegar. A su lado, una caja cerrada: lo que se ofrezca por ella abre la puerta del tango a nuevos alumnos de Mariposita. La mejor oferta se la lleva.
- 18:46 · La dedicatoria. Frente a la pintura, el autor entrega el libro, de su mano, a quienes fue dedicado.
- 18:53 · El tango. Baila Carolina Bonaventura.
- 18:57 · El último baile. Todos en la pista, en el abrazo. Una frase cierra la hora.
- 19:00 · Ahora te toca a vos. Frente al mural, los primeros invitados son filmados en su primer abrazo. Empieza la clase de tango de Mariposita. Las ofertas por la pintura cierran a las 19:30. Quedate.

- Una noche que no se compra. Entrada libre, plazas limitadas, solo con confirmación.
- Tu llegada por la alfombra roja, filmada.
- El abrazo: los primeros invitados son filmados frente al mural, con un bailarín o bailarina de Mariposita.

From the door you go straight to the mural for your first photo. Then you walk the red carpet with your flag behind you and the cameras in front. Then, to your table.
Siete banderas acompañan la alfombra roja: Argentina, la anfitriona, y los países de los lectores y de los idiomas del libro: Alemania, Estados Unidos, Puerto Rico, Francia, Italia y Japón.
Desde la puerta vas directo al mural para tu primera foto. Después caminás la alfombra roja, con tu bandera detrás y las cámaras delante. Y de ahí, a tu mesa.
